THE 12TH SMO NATIONAL BIENNIAL CONFERENCE
7-11 April 2008 Naga City, Bicol
About the Conference
On April, 2007, John MacArthur released a new book titled “The Truth War: Fighting for Certainty in an Age of Deception” wherein, he tackled Post-Modernism and the Emerging Church – contemporary issues confronting today’s Christianity. In the book, he wrote:
“I find myself compelled to echo the inspired words of Jude and exhort my readers who truly love Christ: you need to contend earnestly for the faith. Truth is under heavy attack, and there are too few courageous warriors who are willing to fight…As vital as it is for us to enlist in the Truth War and do battle for our faith, it is even more important to remember why we are fighting—not merely for the thrill of vanquishing some foe or winning some argument, but out of a genuine love for Christ, who is the living, breathing embodiment of all that we hold true and worth fighting for.”
On 7-11 April 2008, Student Missionary Outreach will highlight the issues raised by MacArthur during the “Stand for the Truth: The 12th SMO Biennial National Conference” in Naga City, Bicol. We have invited Rev. Larry John Sy, former Managing Director of Grace to You Philippines, to lecture on the book and answer questions from the conferees.
Aims of the Conference
To exalt God in collective worship.
To proclaim God in biblical teaching.
To honor God in disciplined stewardship.
The conference will gather SMO missionaries, volunteers, youth leaders, ministry partners, and alumni. The invitation is also extended to those who wants to know the relevance and importance of standing for the Truth in today’s generation.
